3 defenders fined for hitting QB; Colin Kaepernick

Roughing the passer proved costly for several defensive players in Week 10. One passer got docked, too.

Miami Dolphins linebacker Philip Wheeler ($21,000), Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews ($15,750) and Seattle Seahawks end Michael Bennett ($15,750) each were fined for illegal hits on quarterbacks, while San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was fined $7,875 for grabbing the face mask on a play he got sacked.

Other players fined from Week 10 games included:
• Atlanta Falcons safety William Moore ($22,050 for a blow to the head of a defenseless receiver);
• Tennessee Titans safety Bernard Pollard ($15,750 for unnecessary roughness);
• Cincinnati Bengals end Carlos Dunlap ($15,750 for a horse collar tackle);
• Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley ($15,750 for unnecessary roughness).
• Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman ($7,875 for a horse collar tackle);
• Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu ($7,875 for a low block);
• Bengals safety Chris Crocker ($7,875 for a face mask);
• Dolphins center Mike Pouncey ($7,875 for unnecessary roughness);
• St. Louis Rams cornerback Trumaine Johnson ($7,875 for a throat slash gesture);
• Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Eric Page ($7,875 for a late hit); and
• Packers end Mike Neal ($7,875 for a face mask).
